About the journal

About the LACEHH journal.

LACEHH is an independent community journal about housing, hunger, and the everyday conditions that help people live with dignity in Los Angeles.

Understanding is a place to start.

A housing announcement, a change in food assistance, or a shift in local services can have real consequences for a household. We bring those records into readable accounts: what happened, who reported it, when it happened, and what the evidence actually says.

Alongside the journal, our resource directory points readers to organizations that provide help. Service requests go directly to those providers; LACEHH does not operate a shelter, pantry, or benefits program.

A new chapter for this address.

This is a new, independently operated publication. We are not affiliated with the former Los Angeles Coalition to End Hunger and Homelessness or its staff. Historical addresses remain available for relevant new reading. We do not present our articles as recovered work from the former organization.

How we work.

Our reports summarize public records and published accounts. An agency’s statements are attributed to that agency. We distinguish the period a report covers from the date of our editorial revision, and separate sourced reports from general background guides.

Articles are prepared with AI assistance and checked against their cited evidence. We do not claim to have conducted interviews, attended events, or obtained unpublished information. Historical announcements do not establish that a program is still accepting applications.

Care, clarity, and corrections.

We aim to write about our neighbors with dignity and to make sources easy to follow. If an account is inaccurate or a resource has changed, send a correction with the page address and supporting evidence.
