Boyle Heights routes shifted between streets
Metro’s June 22, 2025 service update changed routes, stops and schedules across the bus network. In Boyle Heights, Line 62 was rerouted off Olympic Boulevard between Calada Street and Boyle Avenue: southbound buses were to use Boyle, turn onto 8th Street and return to Olympic, with northbound buses using the streets in reverse. Line 66 shifted from 8th Street between Calada and Soto to Olympic Boulevard. The paired changes put Line 62 on 8th Street and Line 66 directly on Olympic. [1]
Metro said the Boyle Heights changes were intended to improve on-time performance and reduce passenger travel time. The agency’s service update did not report post-change travel-time results. [1]
This summarizes the dated service notice, not today’s stop pattern. The Line 62 and 66 changes applied to the segments identified in the report.

East LA reroute and a line renumbering
Southbound Line 605 in East LA was rerouted via 4th Street, Fresno Street, 1st Street and Lorena Street before rejoining its regular route. Metro said the change addressed operational problems with buses turning at two intersections; the northbound route did not change. Line 605 connects Grande Vista and Olympic with the LAC+USC Outpatient Clinic. [1]
Metro also renamed Line 603, which serves Downtown Los Angeles and Glendale Galleria, as Line 93. The route and schedule remained the same; the number changed to fit Metro’s standard numbering system. [1]
Schedules included reductions as well as adjustments
The service update changed schedules on dozens of lines, with adjustments applying on weekdays, weekends or both. Metro said Lines 2, 4, 10/48, 16, 108, 134 and 232 would each lose one or two trips on specified weekdays and/or weekends to better match ridership. The service hours saved were to be allocated to other bus lines, so the changes did not amount to a general increase in trips. [1]
For people traveling to appointments or food-support services, a route change, relocated stop or revised timetable can affect which stop is convenient and whether a departure fits a scheduled visit. The announcement identified the routes and planned operational changes; it did not identify a pantry on these routes or report individual access outcomes. [1]
Checking a trip against current service
Metro’s rider page, checked October 28, 2026, lists schedules and maps, trip-planning tools, real-time arrivals and service alerts. Those tools can help riders compare a departure with an appointment time; the June 2025 changes described here are historical and do not establish which schedules or stops are current. [2]
